Pratap Gopendra is not a historian, he is a military leader in PAC. Many books have been written before this. Recently his book "Chandrasekhar Azad: Myth and Reality" has come out. This book was obtained through the efforts of friend Firoz Naqvi. I have thought about it many times in different ways, who can do more justice to historical subjects, a professional historian or an enlightened person who writes for his own interest or curiosity? (I am not including non-historians like Ashok Pandey or Subhash Chandra Kushwaha who make historical subjects the subject of their writings for confirmation bias). However, I think that a book like this one is made when written purely for interest and curiosity. In this book, professional historians, history researchers will find many such facts which have come before the people for the first time. Through his personal efforts, Pratap Gopendra got the permission of the government to see the private letters of Chandrasekhar Azad and the revolutionaries associated with the revolutionary movement, which are not available to the general researchers. This book looks at many myths related to Azad's life from many sources. Gives the reader an opportunity to think. The fog clears.
2- After reading this book, students of history can learn a lot from the mistakes made by Pratap Gopendra. While writing history, the archive will contain a lot of interesting material. But it is not necessary to put everything in the book. A student of history has to learn which facts to include in the book as well as how much to leave out of the collected facts during research. This is where history writing becomes an art that comes slowly with diligence and patience. If Pratap ji removes the unnecessary detail from this book of about 500 pages and makes it into 250 pages, then the life of this book will increase.
