city of Derinkuyu in Turkey

 In 1963, a citizen in the city of Derinkuyu in Turkey was troubled by his chickens going into the basement and disappearing.

 

 When he went inside that tunnel he was amazed ЁЯШ▒ Inside was a network of tunnels for miles, an entire underground city of cities, 280 feet deep and 18 stories high.

 

 It is believed that at one time 20 thousand people lived in this underground city, the entire city was like a normal city, houses with good kitchens and bathrooms, schools, grain warehouses, taverns, and even animals.  .


 It is believed that this city was built seven hundred years before Christ.

 

 Today, this entire area has been #protected as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, tourists can also visit, although for security reasons, tourists are only allowed to visit the eight floors of the 18-story basement city.
