Khusro Mirza history of mugal

Khusro Mirza (16 August 1587 – 26 January 1622) was the eldest son of the Mughal emperor Jahangir from his first wife Shah Begum. From a young age, he showed ability and intelligence and was groomed for the throne by the great emperor Akbar himself. He proved to be Jahangir's most capable son, but his fate was bad.

Being Jahangir's eldest son, he was considered the heir, but Jahangir liked his second son Khurram Mirza more than him. In fact, Jahangir had animosity towards Khusro. Khusro Mirza was a popular prince. He was liked for his bravery, war skills and was away from the bad habits of the youth of his time. It is worth noting that Akbar saw Khusro as himself - a brave, capable and warlike prince who won everyone's heart.

Khusro Mirza had the support of many powerful people, including his brother-in-law Mirza Aziz Koka, his maternal uncle Raja Man Singh, Jahangir's mother Maryam-uz-Zamani, Salima Sultan Begum and Jahangir's beloved sister Shakir-un-Nisa Begum. All of them were trying to get Khusro pardoned and saved from the death sentence.
